Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) is a plus for scholarship applicants

The Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) is the national standardized language test for evaluating and certifying the Chinese language proficiency of non-native speakers.

If you are interested in applying the Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarship Program (TSP) or the Ministry of Education Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program (HES), please be advised to take the TOCFL, and attach your examination result in your application to the scholarship programs.

TSP applicants who apply for Mandarin-taught courses are required to attach a TOCFL certificate over level 3(Band B1). The TOCFL certificate over level 3 is not a requirement for TSP applicants for English-taught courses. However, TSP applicants for English-taught courses who attached their TOCFL examination results or certificates will be prioritized in the selection procedure of TSP.

TOCFL certificates or examination results are not required for HES applicants. However, HES applicants who attached their TOCFL examination certificate over level (Novice 1) will also be prioritized in the selection procedure of HES.
